Answering service for auto repair shops
In an independent repair shop the phone and the front counter compete for the same person. When a customer is standing in front of your service advisor and the phone rings, someone gets ignored. Calls also keep coming after you close, from people whose check-engine light came on during the commute home. An AI answering service takes the overflow and after-hours calls so your team can focus on the customers in the building.
What it collects for each caller
- Name and callback number
- Year, make and model, and mileage if they know it
- What's going on: warning light, noise, brakes, A/C, overdue oil change, inspection, tire issue
- Whether the car is drivable or needs a tow
- Whether they're an existing customer
- Preferred drop-off day and time
The summary lands in your inbox right away, so your advisor can call back already knowing it's a 2016 Camry with grinding brakes instead of starting from scratch.
What it won't do
It won't diagnose a car, quote a repair or promise a completion time unless you give it approved wording. A good use of approved wording is your shop hours, whether you do diagnostics for a set fee, what brands you work on, and whether you offer loaners or shuttle rides. It says it's a virtual assistant at the start of each call.
Booking drop-offs
On Pro ($119.99/mo) and Premium ($149.99/mo), the receptionist can book appointments into your calendar during the call. On Starter ($59.99/mo) it takes the details for a callback and only answers Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, which covers overflow during the day but not evenings or Saturdays.

Forward only the calls you miss
Most shops don't forward everything. They set conditional forwarding so the shop phone rings first, and RepOnRing answers when nobody picks up within a few rings or the line is busy. After hours, all calls go to the receptionist. See how to forward business calls and how to set up after-hours call answering.
Try a service call
Open the auto repair demo on the demos page or press Talk to Riley, and describe a car that's making a grinding noise when you brake. You'll hear the questions and the summary. More on the auto repair industry page.
Frequently asked questions
Can it take calls while my advisor is with a customer?
Yes. With conditional forwarding it answers when your line rings without being picked up or is busy.
Does it quote repair prices?
No, unless you give it specific approved wording. It takes the details so your team can quote.
Can it schedule drop-offs?
On Pro and Premium it books into your calendar. On Starter it takes details for a callback.
What happens with tow requests?
It notes that the car isn't drivable and the location, and flags it if you've marked tow calls urgent. It doesn't dispatch tow trucks.
Do I keep my shop's phone number?
Yes. You forward your existing number.
